Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TradeBindr (“TradeBindr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use the TradeBindr mobile app and website (collectively, the “Service”). TradeBindr helps trading card game collectors track their collections, scan cards, connect with other collectors, and arrange trades.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

a. Information you provide

  • Account and profile information: your name, email address, username (handle), display name, profile photo or avatar, and bio.
  • Collection data: the cards you add to your collections, including quantities, condition, notes, acquisition prices and dates, watchlists, and whether a collection is public or private.
  • Trading and marketplace activity: trade proposals you send or receive, the cards and any cash amounts involved, listings you create, and the status of those trades.
  • Ratings and reviews: ratings and written reviews you leave for other users after a trade.
  • Communications: information you provide when you contact us for support or otherwise correspond with us.

b. Information collected automatically

  • Device and connection information: your device type and platform (iOS or Android), IP address, and browser or app user-agent.
  • Usage information: how you interact with the Service, including scan activity (such as which game you scanned, how many cards, and how long it took) and other in-app actions.
  • Session and security information: authentication sessions and related security data used to keep your account secure.
  • Push notification tokens: a device token used to deliver push notifications, if you enable them.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data collected to help us find and fix problems (via Sentry).

c. Camera and photo-library images

When you scan cards, the app accesses your camera and/or photo library (with your permission) to capture or import card images. These images are processed to identify the cards — including by our third-party image-recognition provider, Ximilar — so we can add them to your collection. You can decline or revoke camera and photo-library permissions in your device settings, though some features will not work without them.

d. Information from third parties

If you sign in using Google or Apple, we receive basic account information from those providers (such as your name and email address) as permitted by your settings with them. We use this to create and authenticate your account.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including your collections, scanning, and portfolio tracking.
  • Facilitate trading and the marketplace, including matching potential trade partners and displaying listings.
  • Maintain reputation features, including ratings, reviews, and reputation scores.
  • Send you notifications, including trade activity and other updates, where you have enabled them.
  • Protect the security and integrity of the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about the Service.
  • Analyze and improve the Service, including diagnosing technical problems.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: We share information with vendors who process data on our behalf to operate the Service, including Resend (transactional email), Sentry (error and performance monitoring), Ximilar (card image recognition), TCGplayer/TCGCSV and the Pokémon TCG API (card catalog and pricing data), Google and Apple (sign-in), Expo (push notifications), and our hosting and infrastructure providers. These providers are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
  • Other users: Your public profile and any information you choose to make public — such as your handle, avatar, public collections, listings, ratings, and reputation — are visible to other users. You control much of this through your profile visibility settings (for example, whether to show your rating, trades, full collection, transaction history, or watchlist).
  • Legal and safety: We may disclose information if we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of TradeBindr, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.

4. Card Scanning and Images

Card scanning is a core feature of the Service. When you scan, images you capture or import are sent to our image-recognition provider (Ximilar) and to our servers to identify the cards and add them to your collection. We use scan-related data (such as card counts and processing time) to operate and improve the feature. We retain card images and scan data for as long as needed to provide the Service and as described in “Data Retention” below.

5. Your Choices and Rights

You have choices about your information:

  • Profile visibility: Control what others can see using your in-app privacy settings.
  • Notifications: Manage or turn off push notifications in your notification settings or your device settings.
  • Blocking: Block other users to limit their interaction with you.
  • Access and update: Review and update your account and profile information in the app.
  • Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us at hello@tradebindr.app.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose; to request access to or a copy of that information; to request correction or deletion; and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@tradebindr.app. We will verify your request before responding, and you may use an authorized agent where permitted by law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information after you delete your account where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce our agreements. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for these purposes.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encrypted transmission and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your login credentials confidential.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, please contact us at hello@tradebindr.app.

9. International Users

We operate the Service from the United States, and we process and store information in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
